The Solar Victoria Rebate is back from the 1st July 2019. Victorian’s can now get either 50% off Solar Panels or 50% Battery Storage. Eligible households can also get the remaining balance 0% interest over 4 years.
The Solar Victoria Rebate is a great opportunity for you to get Solar on your home and reduce your energy bill and perhaps get a feed-in tariff. However, there is a lot of information out there and it gets a bit confusing as to what needs to happen and how much you need to pay.
Here at Solar Run, we get asked these questions about the Solar Rebate Scheme Victoria every single day and we realised that we can explain what needs to happen in a simple, relatively simple, way.
If you meet the eligible criteria you can get $2,225 or up to 50% off your solar panel installation. For solar battery storage you can get up to $4,838 or up to 50% off. Be aware – its only 1 rebate or the other. Solar Victoria won’t allow you to have both rebates. As an added bonus from the 1st of July you can get the installation on 0% interest.

You need to answer yes to the below questions:
Do you have a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000 per annum?
You are the owner-occupier of the home?
Your home valued at under $3 million?
You don’t have solar PV on your property installed after 2009?
If you have answered Yes. Congratulations you are eligible for the government Solar Victoria Rebate. You can either get up to $2,225 off your solar panel installation or up to $4,838 off your solar battery storage installation. Be quick as availability for the Solar Homes offers are limited.
If you haven’t done this then Solar Run can be your chosen solar installer.
Solar Run is a Clean Energy Council (CEC) Member and Approved Retailer. If you don’t choose us, to claim the Solar Victoria Rebate you must buy from a CEC Approved Retailer. The Clean Energy Council is the government group that looks after Solar Industry. They approve companies, installers, and products. Solar Run uses Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved solar panels and inverters. Once you have chosen as as your installer, you will need to register with Solar Victoria to get the rebate. Solar Run will provide you with a “Solar Provider Statement“. You will need this when you register your pending installation with Solar Victoria.
Here is what you need to do:
1. Go to the Solar Victoria website
2. Once you are there you will need to submit your proof eligibility
3. Nominating Solar Run as your chosen Solar Provider

We typically look to schedule your solar home installation within 3 weeks from when you pay your deposit. Installation itself takes only a day or two. In that time we will book in our installers, organise solar panels and inverters, arrange for an inspector to sign off once the job has been done.
You should make sure that you have a few things ready for the installer:
Extra roof tiles (if you have a tile roof) Your wifi password handy (your inverter will connect to the net so that you can monitor how much energy your solar is producing)
On the day of installation, the installers will come to your house. Installation can take one or two days. Once they are done an inspector will come to your house to sign off on the job.
With your solar installed, we will provide all the required documents to complete the Solar Victoria Rebate application process. See below list of documents:
You will receive an email from Solar Victoria confirming your eligibility number and access the link to your rebate application form to complete the process.
Now that you have submitted your documentation, so the next step is to wait for Solar Victoria to process your information to claim the rebate. Check for an email saying that your Solar Rebate claim has been processed. If you have this email then it typically takes 2-3 weeks for Solar Victoria to pay your solar rebate.
